So grateful to have B&B in town! It's such a nice treat for the family when we visit the Plaza. The triangle bread is out of this world. The olive loaf is also amazing. My one year old says, "pizza"! It kinda does taste like it!
We also got their blueberry cake for my 5yr old's birthday. It was almost too pretty to eat, but we are so glad we did! Everyone raved about it for weeks.
You really can't go wrong with anything there. It's so delicious, and the owners are just the sweetest.
We rented a studio in La Jolla with SVR. I was pleased how efficient the application process was. The price was very affordable for the quality of our stay. When I called to ask about a washing machine/dryer, it was not included. However, they went above and beyond my expectations and contacted the owner for me and gave me permission to use one. Very happy with our stay.
Went with my two year old daughter for some dinner. We ordered the coconut shrimp & chicken curry. Food was amazing. Chicken was so tender and the shrimp was large with an amazing lime mango sauce. Roti was delicious! We also got a fresh young coconut to drink. Everything was so fresh and well presented. They were slammed, but our server kept checking on us and promptly took care of our requests. He even quickly grabbed a wooden animal my daughter was looking at and brought it to our table for her to play with. Love these guys!
The three stars is because I would give it 5 for the food, but a 2 for cleanliness and decor. We ordered the vegan slider, pastrami sandwich and buckwheat pancakes. Staff was polite and attentive. Everything was delicious, hot, and the breads were fantastic. However, they only had one high chair and it was filthy. We are used to wiping down high chairs, but this was beyond just dirty. Even after we did our best, it was still really sticky. We came around 1pm and the floors had stains everywhere, which made me assume they don't mop every night. Also, our table was not wiped down.. and continued not to be as people came. I think they are understaffed. I was concerned how all the pastries were not covered. Just exposed to all the dust, people touching, sneezing, etc. The bathroom was also a little dirty. Soap dispenser was empty. All in all, we would love to come back for the food but for health reasons, not sure if it's the most sanitary for our comfort.
We went on Wednesday around 1:30pm and were seated right away. It was not slammed, many empty tables around us. We waited for a server for 15 minutes. It would have been longer if we didn't flag one down. The couple next to us were seated at the same time, but ate and left while we waited. It took almost 45 mins to get our food. My burger was well cooked and hot, but my daughter's eggs and pancake were cold as well as my husband's combo plate. We told the server about it but told her we will eat it anyway because we were starving and had to go back to work. To add insult to injury, we were overcharged for the combo plate. There were no apologies, just a lot of repeated excuses. We used to love Tecolote when it was smaller. I think they have too many tables now for a small kitchen to keep up with. Burger was alright, adovada was delicious, as well as the bakery basket... But not worth it for us to wait almost an hour for cold food.
Wow. Didn't expect this from a food truck. We tried the Cuban sandwich and a plain grilled cheese sandwich. Nothing was plain about them. Huge fresh slices of toast. The pork in the cuban sandwich was a little tougher than I am used to, but it was fine and so delicious! The fries are amazing. You can tell they are hand cut, seasoned and fried perfectly. We can't wait to go back and try everything on their menu.
I've been there twice now. I've got a 22 mo old, so it was nice to have the drive thru for a quick pick up. I've tried their latte, black coffee, croissants, blueberry muffins, and green chili cheese burritos. Everything was excellent. Service was prompt and everything was fresh and hot. Has a really great community feel, and seeing how the parking lot is packed each time and the people are lounging there, it's a hit. The potatoes in the burritos were amazing... perfectly cooked red potatoes... just the best I've ever had. My husband finished one, and was sad I didn't get two for him.
We arrived on a Wednesday night at 7pm. Greeted at the door and sat at a table right away. The server setup our chopsticks and even laid our cloth napkins on our laps! The decor has a rustic yet modern charm. We love sushi, so we ordered the love boat ($49) and also an additional two rolls (Salmon & Tuna). They offered us a small plate of Hijiki for free, which was very good. The love boat had large pieces of sashimi that we didn't expect, which is why we ordered extra rolls. It was MORE than enough for two. Also, the first time we tried homemade wasabi that was super delicious. The fish was like butter. Just melts in your mouth. It was all very fresh. The sides of pickled cucumber was refreshing and a nice touch. I've had sushi in very posh restaurants in NYC & Seattle, yet this was the best sushi I've ever had. The sushi chef has over 50 years of experience, and it shows. We plan on making this a regular spot for us. It was better than my experience at Shohko Café, which was recommended to us as being the best in Santa Fe... and much cheaper.
